Pewter Cast Awards

Pewter is considered the fourth most valuable metal in common use, after platinum, gold and silver. Pound for pound, pewter is more expensive than bronze however, there are a few factors that affect the overall price of a model cast in either material.

The first factor is that pewter is a soft metal and weighs less than bronze. The same model will weigh considerably more in bronze than it will in pewter. While pewter is more expensive, a pewter model’s weight will be less. The second factor is that pewter has a much lower melting point than bronze. This allows for pewter to be cast directly into a silicone rubber mold, eliminating the many additional steps required in the lost wax casting process for bronze.

Building on our traditional, beautiful, high-end custom designs, Inspired Bronze also offers our customers this and other alternatives to our cast bronze trophy and award designs. Cast pewter trophies and awards remain true to the high-end product that Inspired Bronze clients expect while offering more variety and can offer a quicker turnaround time than that of our signature cast bronze sculptural awards.
