The Paracas Man | an Inspired Bronze and Marcia K. Moore inside experience

Paracas Man by Marcia Moore and Inspired Bronze3Ancient peoples have been remembered for incredible body modifications. From the crocodile-like skin of the Blackwater villagers in Papua New Guinea to the lip plates used by Ethiopian tribes, these outward changes symbolize tribal association, tradition, and higher consciousness. However, the elongated shapes of the Paracas skulls in Peru remain a deep mystery. The origin of these extended heads have been debated for some time. Archaeologists and geneticists question whether the Paracas skulls are a result of genetic mutation, physical alteration or even a sign of extraterrestrial life. Sculpture artist Marcia K. Moore has been creating digital interpretations of the Paracas people at Ciamar Studio. Moore’s fascination with these ancient beings inspired her to bring their souls to life in the form of three dimensional renderings. While she remains interested with traditional art styles and mediums, Moore also enjoys the diversity that today’s digital tools offer.
